A comedy of manners in a time without manners, Cappuccino and Regret is a two-act play about the tribulations of two couples- Bob and Lisa, and Karen and Ralph- who are long time friends. Bob and Karen have been having an affair for three months, and both Lisa and Ralph suspect, but are both unsure. As the play opens, we see Bob stumbling home late at night, with another fantastic excuse after another night of "working late." In the middle of the ensuing argument, Lisa- perhaps actualizing a lonely fantasy of her own- "lets slip" that she is maybe ill- possibly with cervical cancer- hoping to get some attention from her husband, or perhaps rekindle his affection for her.

Reviews:

This time Heleva knows what he is writing - a contemporary comedy of morals - and he keeps focused on the situation at hand.
Heleva directs his own play and brings it credibly to life.
The cast of four finds personalities for thier characters that suit the action and are vivid enough to keep the audience interested.
